Over 100 of Rep. Conor Lamb's (PA-17) constituents, including members of Squirrel Hill Stands Against Gun Violence packed his town hall event last night. Constituents asked about multiple issues, including gun legislation, healthcare and impeachment. Three questions were asked about gun legislation, two about red flag laws (ERPOs) and one about assault weapons. Mr. Lamb emphasized the importance of background checks (Lamb voted for HR8, the expanded background checks bill back in February) but avoided answering the questions on ERPOS and assault weapons. Judging by the audience response to the questions and the deafening silence in response to Lamb's answers, constituents at the town hall strongly support passing gun violence prevention legislation. We thank Mr. Lamb for being accessible to his constituents but are disappointed at his failure to support bills supported by the great majority of his constituents. We ask that if you live in PA-17, you attend Conor Lamb's next town hall on August 29. And definitely give his office a call ((412) 344-5583, (202) 225-2301) to urge him to co-sponsor H.R.1236 and H.R.3076 (extreme risk protection order bills) and a ban on high capacity magazines (H.R.1186, the Keep Americans Safe Act).
